The Academy of Exegetical Theology
Drawing theological convictions from the text of Scripture.
Our Purpose.
“To further equip the saints for the work of the ministry with intentional immersion in specific areas of doctrine through exegetical study.”
“To further equip the saints for the work of the ministry…”
This ministry cannot be separated from the call for every believer to be equipped for gospel ministry. This will never be meant to replace the normal means through which every believer is to be equipped within the local church (Ephesians 4:11-14).
“with intentional immersion in specific areas of doctrine…”
One of the benefits of this academy will be the immersive and pointed nature of the courses. This approach will stretch all who enroll but will benefit and broaden their understanding of doctrine immensely, with the aim of presenting themselves “as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God” (Romans 12:1).
“through exegetical study.”
This is truly the backbone of the academy. All of our doctrine and theology is to be derived exegetically. God has spoken through His written word, and it is “out of” the pages of Scripture we learn from (and about) God. We must never press our own ideas into Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

General Info.
INSTRUCTORS
We are prayerfully considering various likeminded pastors who are inline with the GBCNYC statement of faith (What We Teach) and who have proven to be faithful and qualified shepherds. These men represent doctrinally sound churches across the USA and many would teach remotely via Zoom.

Thursdays, 5:30-9:30p, GBC Ministry Center (232 E. 82nd St., Unit GA)

How To Pray.
Pray for wisdom for Joey as he works on the many details of this ministry and seeks counsel from other trusted men for direction.
Pray for those who may be interested/considering enrolling, that the Lord would give them clarity as to if/when would be best for them to begin.
Pray and consider whether you would like to enroll. The Lord knows if/when you should take any of these courses.
Pray about how you can serve in this ministry. Potential service opportunities include administrative assistance, hospitality, event planning, and student care.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
— 2 Timothy 2:15
