    As the elders of GBCNYC’s sending church, the board of elders at Grace Community Church, Jacksonville provide additional counsel and accountability for Joey. Their involvement includes regular communication with Joey about the state of the church and shepherding situations.

    These men are members of GBCNYC who contribute to the broader ministry of the church by providing counsel on various situations and serving as a consistent source of direction. Their input is essential in supporting Pastor Joey as he strives to faithfully lead the church.

  • The Biblical Call to a Plurality of Elders

    We believe that the Bible gives us a clear picture of what the leadership of a God-honoring church should look like. The church should be led by a plurality of elders (Acts 20:17; Tit. 1:5; Heb. 13:17; 1Pet. 5:1) who are men who meet the qualifications laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, and Titus 1:6-9. Our desire at GBCNYC is to have a second elder ordained as soon as the Lord would allow.
