Frequently asked questions.
Where is GBCNYC currently meeting?
We currently meet on the Upper East Side in the Hungarian House on Sundays at 213 East 82nd St. 10022.
What do Sunday mornings at GBCNYC look like?
Our Sunday services are driven by a high view of God and the reality that we as Christians are called to gather together as His people. Our time is focused on the exaltation of Jesus Christ and the edification of His people. We desire that all who gather with us each week will come away with a greater understanding of the God of the Bible, who created all things and sustains all things. We hope that this greater understanding will lead to a life lived in worship to Him, and a love for Jesus that will be displayed in an obedience to His commands and a love for others.
Our services include times of singing, prayer, Scripture reading, giving, and expository preaching. Each service runs for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes and is followed by a time of fellowship.
How will GBCNYC satisfy the biblical requirement to have a plurality of elders?
Joey Gonzalez was ordained as an elder in January 2021. It is our desire to have a second elder ordained shortly after we plant the church, however we we will trust the Lord’s timing. Until a second elder is ordained, the board of elders at Grace Community Church has agreed to provide additional counsel and accountability. Generally speaking, what will distinguish GBCNYC from other churches in Manhattan?
Based on what we know about Manhattan, I would say that our “distinctive” would be a commitment to sound doctrine, biblical care for one another, expository preaching, and a high view of church membership.
